Field Marshal Douglas MacArthur, once Supreme Commander of Allied Forces, said 'The soldier above all others prays for peace, for it is the soldier who must suffer and bear the deepest wounds and scars of war.'  Wounded veterans, and those suffering psychologically from the effects of combat, or military service, have earned our support (in spades), as have their families and extended families, who often share the weight of the veteran’s pain.

Supporting them means more than giving voice to our respect, admiration, and gratitude for their sacrifice; it means helping them in their time of need, providing them with assistance, guidance and, where warranted, financial aid.  It means helping with housing, health care, recovery, and emotional support.

There is never enough money to provide the level of support that our veterans deserve but, fortunately, some Canadian organizations and charities have stepped up to the plate and stand ready to help, in whatever way they can.  Some of those organizations - and supporting programs - are identified in this section.

Please take the time to review them and, if you are a veteran in need, perhaps you will find a solution to your struggles.
